Government of Karnataka has launched Gruha Lakshmi Scheme and through it more than one crore women will be given monthly assistance of Rs 2,000. Rahul Gandhi transferred the amount to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). This program was inaugurated here in the presence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. The Chief Minister of Karnataka launched this Yojana to provide financial assistance to poor women.
